Dune Introduces a Comprehensive On‑Chain Data Hub for Over 50 Polkadot Parachains – Blog

Dune Adds On‑Chain Data for Over 50 Polkadot Parachains, Expanding Its Analytics Suite

The analytics platform now covers the majority of the Polkadot ecosystem, offering real‑time dashboards, API endpoints and visualisation tools for developers, traders and researchers.

Overview

Dune Analytics has announced that its Substrate data feed now includes more than 50 parachains operating on Polkadot and Kusama. The rollout follows the company’s March announcement, which initially brought analytics for the Relay‑Chains and six parachains. The latest expansion makes Dune the most comprehensive on‑chain data source for the Polkadot ecosystem, giving users a single place to monitor transaction volumes, DeFi activity, NFT marketplaces, gaming statistics and cross‑chain flows.

What’s new

  • Broad coverage – The integration spans the entire Polkadot parachain landscape, from well‑known smart‑contract platforms such as Moonbeam to specialised projects like Phala (privacy‑first contracts) and Mythos (gaming). Other highlighted chains include Acala (DeFi hub), Manta (privacy‑preserving finance) and dozens of additional Substrate‑based networks.
  • Interactive dashboards – Users can explore pre‑built dashboards that visualise chain‑level metrics, parachain‑to‑relay‑chain relationships, and specific use‑case data (e.g., Mythos gaming activity).
  • API access – Dune’s REST‑style API now allows developers to convert any dashboard query into a programmable endpoint, enabling automated reporting and integration with external tools.
  • Partnership implementation – The integration was carried out together with data‑engineering firm Colorful Notion, which supplied the pipeline that continuously ingests and normalises parachain data for Dune’s catalog.

Why the expansion matters

Polkadot’s architecture relies on a heterogeneous set of parachains, each with its own tokenomics, transaction patterns and governance models. Historically, extracting usable analytics required stitching together data from multiple block explorers or running custom indexing services. Dune’s unified layer removes that friction, offering:

  • Speed for developers – Teams building on parachains can instantly benchmark performance, trace user adoption and assess security metrics without writing their own indexers.
  • Better market insight – Traders and capital allocators gain a holistic view of liquidity movements across the ecosystem, supporting more informed decision‑making.
  • Easier research – Academics and data scientists obtain clean, time‑series data that can be combined with other blockchain datasets for cross‑chain studies.

Fredrik Haga, CEO of Dune, emphasized that the goal is to “make the complexity of Polkadot’s network easier to navigate, so that innovators can focus on building rather than data‑collection.”

Roadmap and community involvement

Dune has set an ambitious target of supporting 100 blockchains by the time of DuneCon, scheduled for November in Bangkok, Thailand. The company is actively soliciting community proposals through its Data Request list and the Dune Catalyst program, which enables developers to contribute connectors for additional chains.

Key takeaways

  • Comprehensive coverage: Over 50 Polkadot parachains are now searchable on Dune, making it the most extensive Polkadot analytics hub to date.
  • Immediate utility: Pre‑built dashboards and a public API give developers, investors and researchers instant access to on‑chain metrics.
  • Ecosystem impact: easier data access could accelerate DeFi, gaming and privacy‑focused projects on Polkadot by lowering the barrier to analytics.
  • Future expansion: Dune’s commitment to 100‑chain coverage positions the platform as a central data layer for the broader multi‑chain landscape.
